Fastrack
Fastrack Art for local government
Ever wished you could just attend a course to learn about art?
For the first time a unique development course has been created especially for local government staff who encounter art and art events regularly, yet feel their knowledge in the field is lacking.
The course has been created by Lyn DiCiero, Editor of the Artist's Chronicle who will share more than twenty years' experience in the visual arts together with colleagues and art organisations.
Learn about art materials (please note - you will not be asked to complete a painting!), conservation issues, framing, art appreciation, understanding exactly what you see, identifying fine art photography, public commissions, and the Per Cent for Arts Scheme.
Includes art materials, reference notes, DVD, and visits to artists studios and galleries.
"Just wanted to congratulate you on the course - I thoroughly enjoyed it - even though I have been in the industry for 20 years it is always good to go back to basics and either confirm the skills/knowledge that you have or pick up new information - which I certainly did. It was also a fantastic group of people to get to know, understand and learn how and where their councils
are currently at."
Lee Ord, City of Melville
"An extremely comprehensive course covering all the basics necessary for someone engaged
in delivering Art Programmes and Projects. The course was presented in an extremely user friendly fashion with experts from all areas of the Art world taking part in the presentations.
I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone starting out in the industry or having to cater for Art and Culture without having a formal education in this field."
Kevin Knapp, City of Belmont
Three day course includes lunch and morning/afternoon teas. Location: Fremantle.
Cost: $1200.
