This issue we feature the work of chronically displaced artist Stephen Eastaugh on show at Urban Dingo Gallery in Fremantle from 8 May. Eastaugh has roamed the world for decades. During this time he has had no home, a concept foreign to most of us. His displacement has become normal to him, and intrinsic
to his art practice. Eastaugh will be typically displaced from his artwork at Urban Dingo Gallery, while he continues to work from his current studio in Antarctica during the course of the exhibition.

We highlight several works from the 2009 Sculpture by the Sea exhibition at Cottesloe, and remind readers not to miss the Castaways Sculpture Awards for recycled sculpture at Rockingham Foreshore from 2 - 10 May. The Awards underline a strong message of the benefits of recycling, and a forum during the exhibition will expose artists to ideas on using recycled materials in their practice, as well as domestically.

Our Book Review Art & Today written by New York art critic Eleanor Heartney is essential reading for all artists, curators and buyers. The book is based on contemporary art since the 1980s, and is a rich survey of art in our times. The profile of the publication was boosted by Heartney's recent visit to Western Australia during the Perth International Arts Festival.

Mundaring Arts Centre celebrates thirty years and twenty-five years of the Shire of Mundaring Art Collection. The Centre has developed a strong exhibition and education program, and engages with the local community on a level other art centres would aspire to. With so many of Western Australia's leading artists presently or previously living in the Hills area, visitors and locals to the Mundaring Arts Centre have been fortunate to view works by these artists throughout the thirty years of its existence. The much-anticipated flagship annual exhibition at the Centre, Mine Own Executioner, where invited artists produce a self-portrait, is currently touring regional Western Australia.
